GO Waggoners Wells Middle Distance - Results

Thank you all for coming. We had catered for a large late entry but not that large... We tried hard to recycle maps and give everyone the run they wanted, but it was imperfect. We suspect that imperfection resulted in a few people who had pre-entered not being able to run their chosen course and having to make do with a substitute. If that happened to you (and you did not voluntarily change your course) please get in touch (jeremy.wilde at btinternet dot com) and we will refund you your entry fee.

*** UPDATE for Brown, Blue, Short Blue and Light Green courses I have now corrected the 204 time for all runners who got there in less than 59:25. Everyone else still needs to add 59:25 to the time recorded.

Note that the race times are all accurate as the Start and Finish boxes were absolutely in tune with each other (and possibly also with GMT). So the overall results are quite in order. Regrettably the splits leave a little to be desired but all is not lost - here is a handy DIY guide to finding out how long each leg really took.

If you visited control 204, you need to add 59 minutes and 25 seconds to the time recorded there (except see above ones which have been corrected - it should be obvious).

For controls 205-213 there is no problem, as they were in sync with Start and Finish.

For all other controls, they are about 2 minutes and 45 seconds adrift, so subtract that and you will reveal the Truth.

A special mention should be made to both planners for producing good and challenging courses, also to Neil and his Gophers who made the day enjoyable for all. Normally I would have to give an explanation of any incidents, but not this time which is fantastic. Jeremy Wilde has mentioned in his comments about the recycling of maps, due to larger than expected entries on the day.

I certainly enjoyed the day, and hopefully you all did too. Fortunately the weather was kind to us which made a big difference.

So wishing you all A Happy New Year and I might see some of you in the forest in 2013.
