Some of courses were tough, even though the distances were within the guidelines. There was quite a bit of climb on some courses, so I hope this didn't spoil your day too much.
Yellow Course.
Apologies to the young girl who complained that the hills were too steep!
Thank you to the senior citizen who pointed out the length of barbed wire
close to Control No 218. Sorry we hadn't noticed it or it would have been
taped.
Brown and Blue Course - Control No 86.
I agree with the observation that
the control was positioned higher up the hill than marked on the map,
although
it was still within the circle.
To the group of children who decided to blow their whistles.
Please only
blow them in an emergency and not to see who can whistle the loudest!
It caused pandemonium to parents waiting at the finish and to those who
rushed to investigate.
On the downside.
Please can all competitors try to remember to download
at the finish and not go home to receive a telephone call from the
controller
enquiring of their whereabouts. We could have wasted a lot of time searching
for the individual had we not had the telephone number.
Another competitor, who failed to download at the finish only realised his
mistake when he arrived home, drove all the way back from Bracknell and
informed us he was safe. Well done Sir!
I would like to thank the following people: Linda Pakuls who deserves a big pat on the back for doing an excellent job. She last planned an event over 20 years ago - so well done for all her hard work in the planning and preparation. Thanks also to Jim Morris, the organiser and his team of helpers - too many to name, for a job well done. Thanks too to Paul Wallace-Stock (SN) for his assistance to the run up to the event and on the day, and finally to the competitors for the kind comments to GO.
