It didn't rain! We hope you enjoyed your sortie around Ludshott and Bramshott Commons and had a fun time. From the scores it would appear that quite a few were a bit over ambitious and underestimated just how long it takes to get back from the far end of the common ... the joys of a score event!! Congratulations to Mole Valley for yet another win, but they weren't that far ahead of SO or SN, so watch your backs next year.

As always, thanks are due to a number of people for allowing the event to happen and for permission to use the area. I would first like to thank the Defence Estates and National Trust for the use of the area, and Mr Mellstrom for the use of his splendid field for car parking. The club as a whole turned out in force to man the pumps, so to all GO team leaders .. Jim Morris - Car Park, Deborah Simmons - Registration, Pete Nicholls - Start, Tim Pugh and Jeremy Wilde - Finish, Janet Phillips - Drinks, Linda Pakuls - String and helpers, thanks. This was our first event with SI, and I have to say a special thank you to Tim Pugh for taking on a difficult task of the finish ... and more, and to Jon and Angela Darley whose SI expertise both before and during the event was invaluable. A special thanks also to Mike Elliott from MV who also shared his SI skills with us on the day .. thanks Mike. Thanks also to Gary Simmons for a really challenging and interesting course, and to Robin Smith for controlling the event.

We hope we got the scoring right, and that there are no serious errors. If you spot any, then do let us know. A number of teams did have more runners than appear in the team results, but as they had negative scores, we didn't think it was fair to penalise those with positive scores by including these results. I trust you agree with this decision. Perhaps it is time for the SEOA to set some rules in stone for this event for future years, as it does seem to have rather vague rules that are not that easy to find ... over to you SEOA for 2002.

Finally thank you to all competitors from both the SE and other regions who came along .. we hope the trip was worthwhile, and we look forward to seeing you at future GO events in 2002.
