British Sprint RelaysLeeds Beckett University
We fielded one team for the British Sprint Relays to keep up our attendance at all major relays this year – thanks to team captain Angela for organising and participating in all of these.
This relatively new event was a precursor to the individual British Sprints and took place at the Headingly campus of Leeds Beckett University, which provided a great venue with the athletics track and infield ideally situated for the arena and change-over and excellent indoor facilities alongside (not to mention the roar of planes descending into Leeds Bradford airport).
Farley Frolic
Some 80 participants enjoyed Helen’s courses, the lovely summer weather and the beautiful surroundings of Farley Heath on May 14th.
Good reports were received, “ thank you so much for such a great event!! The green course was amazing!! Loved it! We all got a dose of sunshine"
Club Championships 2021/22 Final Results

Very well done to all of them, the trophies will be presented in due course.
Most events attended - Tom Edelsten who was at 9 of the 10 (& I guess would have been at all of them but for Covid).
The full results are below.
Thanks to everyone for taking part.
GO BananasFarley Heath
Juniors met on 8th May for the third GO Bananas training session, and faced their own map memory challenges. They had specially designed courses which brought them back to our base to ensure that no one went missing. Again thanks to Geoff for designing an array of courses to suit all skills levels.
Adult Training at Farley Heath
Training at Farley Heath on 8th May focused on map memory. Participants undertook a “Norwegian” style course, being provided with a section of the course which had to be memorised at each control before proceeding. Thanks to Geoff for organising this.
Adult training will now take a break for the summer, but watch this space for September.
2021 Chairman’s Trophy
Tim Pugh who is one of GO's longest-serving members was presented with the Chairman's Trophy for 2021, for over 40 years service to British orienteering, during which (among other activities) he organised the 1988 JK, the 1994 British Champs, the 1999 World Champs and the 2005 World Cup.
Compass Sport Trophy 2020 heat winnersHampstead Heath 15th March 2020
Thank you to all those who ran at Hampstead Heath especially those who ran up/down. I know a few were unable to make it due to the rise of Covid 19 in the UK. Team results show that we won the heat somewhat more convincingly that in 2019, 117 points ahead of DFOK and 120 ahead of MV.
COVID UPDATE: The 2020 final was cancelled, the plan is that all qualifiers for 2020 will be invited to complete in the 2021 final.
