Club Training - Puttenham Common
The GO/MV joint training sessions resumed after the Summer at Puttenham Common on Saturday 1st October.
On a bright day we concentrated on using the compass to follow a bearing. There were a range of activities from a short simple course for newcomers up to more challenging courses for those trying to improve their skills.
After a break for refreshments and hot chocolate there was a fun activity allowing everyone to visit controls and use a dibber.
The next session is planned for Saturday 19th November at Abinger Roughs between Guildford and Dorking
South East Sprint ChampsCongratulations to all the medallists in Guildford
The SE Sprint Champs on the last day of July attracted over 170 competitors at Manor Park and the Surrey Research Park in Guildford. The start for the first race is shown in the picture - nicely shady; though the weather was more temperate than earlier in July!

British Sprint RelaysLeeds Beckett University
We fielded one team for the British Sprint Relays to keep up our attendance at all major relays this year – thanks to team captain Angela for organising and participating in all of these.
This relatively new event was a precursor to the individual British Sprints and took place at the Headingly campus of Leeds Beckett University, which provided a great venue with the athletics track and infield ideally situated for the arena and change-over and excellent indoor facilities alongside (not to mention the roar of planes descending into Leeds Bradford airport).
