Explanation of Event levels
Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Training are non competitive events used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships.

Directions / Parking
Meet at the far (western) end of Newlands Corner car park, GU4 8SE.
Training session for orienteering novices or anyone who feels a bit rusty and wants to brush up on their map reading. Families and all ages welcome.
There will be a series of short exercises to practise different navigation skills, with helpers available to give you a hand.
This session uses the same area as the Christmas Cracker event the following weekend, so you can build your confidence to come and have a go.
Free for members of Guildford Orienteers, non-members £1 per person to cover map printing costs.
