Local level event

Explanation of Event levels

Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Training are non competitive events used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships.

Planners Comments

I hope everyone enjoyed running on Blackheath. The courses aimed to take in the best runnable forest as well as tougher heathland. Inevitably there was path running involved on the longer legs. As ever in orienteering, it was important to make good route choices and maintain concentration all the way!

Organisers Comments

It's difficult to find the right time to orienteer on Blackheath with all the nature things that the Council is obliged to protect. Fortunately we managed to get agreement that a few dozen orienteers would not extinguish any species and Phil agreed to plan some courses and the weather treated us very favorably and Team-GO sprang into action to make the whole thing work. My thanks to all involved.
