The MV Headley Heath event has been cancelled as permissions have been withdrawn. This was one of the Club Championship events. It is getting ever harder to find another event that is not too far away from Guildford. SO are holding a Level C event at Oldhouse Warren on 12th April. It is close to Junction 10a of the M23 so getting there will be quite fast. So I have made this the last of the qualifying races for this years championships.

GO Junior Development Programme
GO Bananas!
Guildford Orienteers are starting a new junior development programme “GO Bananas!” from Sept 2014. This is to encourage and support juniors in our club – help them start, develop their orienteering skills and have fun!
We will meet monthly, either at scheduled local O-events or our own training & coaching sessions. The idea is to develop a team of juniors that enjoy orienteering, build confidence and make friends.
Sessions will be suitable for juniors any age, principally 7-18 years. We are engaging a qualified coach to run training sessions to suit all ages. As well as regular orienteering events and training exercises, we intend to feature other fun activities such as Maze-O, Bike-O and Computer-O!
The programme is shown on the club website www.guildfordorienteers.co.uk in a new section for juniors. The monthly calendar is shown on the website. The first date is Saturday Sept 20th at the Guildford City Race at the Univ of Surrey campus in Guildford.
GO families & juniors should put the monthly dates in the calendar. Attached with this email is a one-page flyer you can print out and stick on the fridge! We would like to recruit new juniors to build up numbers, so feel free to invite a friend or other families that might be interested.
GO parents helping to organise the programme are Phil Conway, Angela Darley, Liz McAllister and Pete Couldery.
If you would like to enrol, or have any queries, pls send by email to juniors@guildfordorienteers.co.uk
